I never thought about this point. In short you mean to say that ‘blog for the readers instead of search engine’.
You are right in saying that we should think like a reader instead of blogger and keep their interest in the blog.
I guess friendly environment and positive feedback of their comments are a crucial things to keep in mind, what do you say?
Nice tips Gagan… never thought of this !!!
I partially agree with your views. Avoiding short term visitors is almost an impossible task especially especially if your using social bookmarking sites like Digg & Stumbleupon. All of our posts may not get the same treatment from these sites. So,the number of visitors from these sites keep varying depending on the quality and the interest of the readers. What do you say ?
yea you are right, but majorty of people do not come from social networking sites, I think they come on search engines only ! what say ?

I think, Linking to some great sites which Google trusts also plays an important role.
@ Gouri
When it comes to Google Trust, Google does not count the links which we give in our blog rather it prefers links from other sires that are linking to us.
I am a bit confused at this:
My homepage having thousands of backlinks just got PR1, whereas
pages like (contact, useful links, etc.) with not a single backlink got PR3.
