Well Microsoft launched its much awaited anitivirus Microsoft Security essentials and instead of posting a long review i have decided to name a few worthy alternatives to much hyped security suite.

The Contenders :-

Talking first about my favourite product in this segment is PC Tools threatfire because its fast ,free and low on false detection rates and its lite on system resources though it isn’t a great product to fight antiviruses but due to its very lite nature it can be run alongside any other suite without causing much of a conflict.

Next is the very popular one the oldest free suite Grisoft’s AVG many of us have used it in past and will try the latest version too,works good with detection rates but it isn’t perfect you can use it along PC tools threatfire for added protection.

Avast is the only product in this range that offer a wide range of skin it sometimes it looks like a media player!!!.It performs at per AVG nothing much killer about but the standard interface is quite irritating.

Here comes the champion in this segment many Geeks have tested and certified this among all free antiviruses Avira has got the highest detection rates and and ability to detect unknown malware is also quite strong so this should your pick if have tried everything mentioned above and need better solution for your PC security.
