While surfing the web I came across a new media player called Kantaris. A very attractive looking player that is based on code from Videolan client (VLC) and Bass audio library. Kantaris has a graphical user interface similar to that of Windows Media Player. Below are some quick features about this player :
- Open source and freely available
- No need to download and install any codecs, this player can play almost all multimedia formats
- It can also play the RAR file without even extracting it
- Plays DVD’s and all audio files

Windows 7 isn’t even out officially yet and they are already making software for it. Well at least I know when I install it I won’t have a bunch of issues.
