I have used AVG for quite some time and TRUST ME AVAST is lot better than AVG. And moreover its free also. :)

I had AVG for a while, but it did not pick up some virus I had on my laptop, so I had to go out and buy one. Cost me an arm and a leg, but it was worth it.
