If you are an Airtel broadband user, and face some connectivity issues while surfing Internet then this post will surely help you. It can be a virus problem or because of your modem’s old firmware. In this article I am going to tell you how you can update your modem’s firmware. Lets start :

1. Open any Internet browser and in the top address bar type 192.168.1.1 and hit Enter

2. A window will pop up asking for username and password. Enter the following details and click OK

username : admin

password: password

3. If you have entered correct details, your Modem settings will open.

4. In the left hand side, click on Management. Its good to take backup of your settings if something goes wrong. To take backup click on the BackUp settings button in the right hand side panel.

5. After taking backup, under Management click on Update Software

6. Download latest firmware from here and extract the file using Winrar. Now, in the right hand side panel click on Browse and select the file according to your modem and at the bottom click on Update Software and you’re done. Have a look at the screenshot below.
