iAlertu – Download and Instructions
iAlertu is a kind of alarm system which protects Apple MacBook computer from being stolen. It uses an integral accelerometer and other sensors which caution users when a thief tries to steal their MacBook PC. Users can also connect and control iAlert remotely through iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

iAlertu Email Setup
When a thief tries to steal your MacBook, then iAlertu, with the help of iSight camera automatically takes the picture of the thief and sends it to the user’s email address. It is very easy to use and can be activated by using Apple Remote. In the preference panel, there is a separate email tab from where users can configure their email options. Below is a screenshot where we have shown how to configure Gmail with iAlertu:

- The utility comes with its own preference panel where users can set motion sensitivity, passwords and other for alarm tone setting options.
- In order to activate the application, users need to click “arm system” in the toolbar at the top right of the screen of their Mac computer. Then one needs to enter the password.
- When the alarm is activated, iAlertu grabs a picture of the person trying to steal the computer and mails it to the user’s email id.

The latest version of iAlertu is 0.76 which has added Norwegian translations. For running iAlertu, we require Mac OS X 10.6 or higher versions.
