3 Firefox Hacks that’ll Double Browsing Speed

There are many people out there complaining about the Firefox RAM Memory Bug. Lets get it straight. It’s not a bug. It’s part of the cache feature. This ‘feature’ is how the pages are cached in a tabbed environment.

To improve performance when navigating (studies show that 39% of all page navigations are renavigations to pages visited less than 10 pages ago, usually using the back button), Firefox implements a Back-Forward cache that retains the rendered document for the last five session history entries for each tab.

This is a lot of data. If you have a lot of tabs, Firefox’s RAM memory usage can climb dramatically. It’s a trade-off. What you get out of it is faster performance as you navigate the web.

Now a lot of us have found the ’secrets’ on how to manipulate settings in “about:config” to drop the memory usage as long as possible and to increase the speed at which Firefox loads sites. Read on to find out how to do this.

Remember: Firefox (download it here) is the best internet browser available (in my opinion), and these tweaks below will make it even greater and faster. So enjoy!

Reduce the amount of RAM Firefox uses for it’s cache feature

Here’s how to do it:

1. Type “about:config” (no quotes) in the adress bar in the browser.

2. Find “browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewer”

3. Set it’s value to “0“;(Zero)

Increase the Speed in Which Firefox loads pages

1. Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit Enter.

(Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipeliningit will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.)

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 10.

This means it will make 10 requests at once.

3. Lastly, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0“;.(Zero)

This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages faster now.

Optionally (for even faster web browsing) here are some more options for your about:config (you might have to create some of these entries by Right Click –> New– > Interger or String

network.dns.disableIPv6: set “false”

“content.notify.backoffcount”: set “5“; (Five)

“plugin.expose_full_path”: set “true”.

“ui.submenuDelay”: set “0; (zero)

Reduce RAM usage to 10mb when Firefox is minimized:

This little hack will drop Firefox’s RAM usage down to 10 Mb when minimized:

1. Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar. Type in about:config and then press Enter.

2. Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean.

3. In the box that pops up enter “config.trim_on_minimize”. Press Enter.

4. Now select True and then press Enter.

5. Restart Firefox.

These simple tweaks will make your web browsing with Mozilla Firefox 2-3 times faster and easier. And I think they are fairly easy to apply. Enjoy!

Hello ! Friends , this is first time I am writing a guest article .So I am still a newbie.So accept any ‘bug’ arrive .

Before we start you must know the difference between freeware and open source . Open source are given with their source . We can edit in them for personal customization . But we are not allowed to sell even edited copy of open source .

Free ware is microsoft’s concept . They give us software to use but refuses to show the code ,so programming is encoded . Look around yourself , everywhere you will find keygens of different softwares and even sites like bugmenot are also available .

Search on google for kaspersky keygens . Ok don’t . I will tell you that their are 8,860,000 results .

Searching for kaspersky antivirus will give 11,500,000 results .

So we can assume that 90 percent use fake antivirus ! Unbelievable .

Open source is a big world . I am just having a peek into it . So , I will share some softwares with you .

Use VLC Media player and K-Lite Codec Pack instead of RealPlayer and other stuffs .

This softwares are well known , so I have got nothing to explain . But , using different players to play different files is ridiculous . Both of this softwares can play all media and audio files .

How To Transfer Your Domain From One Domain Registrar To Another

Few months back I wrote an article on DevilsWorkshop on Some Tips To Follow Before Buying A Domain Name, there I mentioned that do not let your hosting company hold your domain name as if by chance your hosting company bans your account, you will loose your domain also. Ttoday I got an email from one of our reader Rohit Manhas asking “I also want to transfer my domain, please tell a reliable domain company and the complete process to transfer it”. In this tutorial I am going to tell you how to transfer your domain. Lets start :

Before starting this tutorial I would like to tell you that I recommend you to go for NameCheap domain registrar because of the following reasons :

Its cheap as compared to other domain companies.
It provides free E-mail/URL Forwarding
It also provides free WhoIsGuard
You do not need verified Paypal account for transferring funds

Now coming to the tutorial, I believe that you have registered an account on NameCheap, if not then make an account now.

Step1. After registering account, at the top click on Live Support and ask then about Promo Code. Though the promo code for this month is WINERWIND but will last only for the month on January, so its better to ask them or Google for the promo code. Save the promo code as we will need it later.

Step2. Now, at the top navigation menu, under Transfer your Domain select Transfer Your Domains to NameCheap

Step3. Now, in the text box enter your domain name that you want to transfer. Please note, do not type WWW or HTTP:// before the domain name. Have a look :

Step4. When you will click on Next, it will tell you if the domain is transferable or not. If yes, then click on Add to Cart and move further.

Step5. Now, it will show you the cost of transferin the domain, in the left hand side enter the Promo Code you got in Step1 and click on Standard Checkout.

Step6. Note down the price of transferin the domain and click here to add funds to your NameCheap account. You can use Paypal or Credit Card to add funds.

Step7. As you will click on Standard Checkout, they will ask you whether you want to enable WhoIsGuard not. Select your option and click on Continue Checkout

Step8. As you have funds in your account, so now its time to pay them.

Step9. After paying them, go to your earlier domain Hosting Cpanel and under Domains look for Domain Transfer or Reg. Transfer or something similar to it

If you are on Dreamhost then you can get the EPP code under Domains > Reg. Transfer. In their system the EPP code is called Auth Code
If you are on Hostgator then you can get the EPP code by sending a request to sales@hostgator.com

Step10. Finally, after getting the EPP code at the top right corner click on My Account > Manage Transfers and fill in the EPP code and within 6-12 hrs the domain will get transferred.
